The Municipality of Ilioupoli  has created the first two open-air lending libraries. These are free book corners in the town center and thanks to this innovation, every citizen has the opportunity to borrow, to browse and enjoy the book of his choice and return it later, while enjoying the sun, his coffee or the conversations with friends on the benches in the square.

The books are collected by the Volunteer Hive of the Municipality of Ilioupoli coming from various relevant actions and there is already a huge response from the citizens.

The Mayor of Ilioupolis, Mr George Hatzidakis, emphasizes that, “we continue to implement interesting new ideas, aiming at the improvement of the fellow citizens’ daily life of every age, thus encouraging  the reading and the dissemination of books, acting with interest and love for our town.”
