MUNICIPALITY OF SOUFLI – ONE OF THE BEST TOURIST VILLAGES IN THE WORLD

Soufli was distinguished among more than 170 entries from 75 countries all around the world, giving the Municipality of Soufli worldwide recognition. In particular, the proposal submitted by the Municipality, which, in the first phase, was selected as one of the three best in Greece, representing our country, it was announced to have managed to attract in a positive way the selection committee of the World Tourism Organization and to secure for Soufli the sign of one of the best tourist villages in the world. Soufli thus enters the world tourist map, showing extroversion, courage and initiative, taking  this unique opportunity to promote and make use of  every element that constitutes its timeless uniqueness.According to the Mayor of Soufli, Mr Kalakikos Panagiotis, the complete and victorious proposal submitted by the municipality, included twenty-two accompanying texts as evidence, replying to questions such as: Which are the cultural and natural resources of Soufli and how they are preserved and promoted, what happens to the economic, cultural, social and environmental sustainability, concerning the prioritization of tourism, but also what opportunities for infrastructure and services exist in the field of health, safety and connectivity.
