The Mayor of Paros Mr. Markos Kovaios announced that the Municipality of Paros has made lately a great effort to find the suitable antidote against the known as red beetle – the destroyer of palm trees.
The natural landscape of Paros has been distinguished by the existence of these
Trees since thousands of years, and the Municipal Authority was constantly looking for, the most appropriate solution.
They found a way, completely ecological and it is essentially one world first – patent of Paros. This is a method,based on appropriate formulations (which are administered with special prescription, in order to avoid environmental effects,bees, groundwater, etc.) and through them, palm trees are sprayed.
There has been to date no problem, leading
to the conclusion that systematic prevention is the only resistance against the killing beetle.
