Following a particularly difficult winter due to the pandemic, the Municipality of Agios Dimitrios made a plan, organizing and implementing a series of summer activities allowing  the town to become a complete summer destination.According to the mayor Mrs Maria Androutsou, the actions are addressed, once more, to all ages, complying with the strict health protocols. These actions meet every interest in many ways and offer carefree moments of joy, so much missed by children and adults, this year.Cool getaways for daily sea baths with two itineraries to Varkiza. The model municipal “Camp of Joy”, including four 12-day periods of exciting camping experience for the children of the town,  from 6 to 14 years old.Summer programs of high level sports and creative employment for 1000 children during the   summer period. The brand new Cine Kids with quality dubbed children’s screen projections every Sunday, making children laugh and enjoy themselves again.Furthermore, the Open Air Film Festival Round the favorite summer institution, which fills, for two months period, the hot summer nights in the town, with the magic of the 7th Art. This year, along with 57 masterpieces from world and European cinema, in every day of the week,  a separate cinematic theme.All these activities prepare and lead the town of Agios Dimitrios to the established and always successful autumn festival, which this year starts on the 31^st of August with huge artistic surprises in store.Along with a rich program, this year’s festival includes concerts, performances, dance and shadow play, marking  the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, but also supports distinguished  artists from Agios Dimitrios, as a minimal return to the culture sector much-affected from the pandemic.
