INNOVATIVE SHELTER IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PAPAGOS – HOLARGOS

The Mayor of Papagou-Ηolargos, Mr. Elias Apostolopoulos, implemented an important project for the citizens of the area. By a recent decision making, the Regional Council of Attica   assisted the Municipality of Papagou-Holargos for the supply and installation of a detachable shelter (balloon), a budget project of 254,200 euros. The two open basketball courts, which had been reconstructed, were covered with the detachable canopy, while the installation of a cooling-heating system was also foreseen. The construction consists of two parts, which will be assembled with special connection pieces ensuring its easy transport and construction. In a short time it may be disassembled and stored for a future use. The system, which consists of a double membrane, will be maintained in its shape and dimensions with the continuous supply of air inside the space, while achieving continuous ventilation of the shell. The lighting consists of 20 LED headlamps250 W, suspended from the membrane with special pieces. This is a very important project, which is done in order for athletes to have the opportunity to play sports, throughout the year and under any weather conditions.
